International Workshop on Capacity Building

for Developing Countries to Address Climate Change

May 17, 2019

Paris Agreement now requires all the member countries of the UNFCCC to develop and submit their NDCs on the regular basis with a five year periodic review process. In this situation, developing countries which do not have experiences in developing their emission reduction target along with low carbon development plans need to build their capacities on the related issues such as forest management, MRV, Article 6 mechanisms and so on.

In this context, On May 17, at the Seoul HQ office of Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), CSDLAP co-hosted the International Workshop on Capacity Building for Developing Countries to Address Climate Change, and promoted sharing of experiences among the related experts, organizations and the governments thereby searching for how to enhance capacities of developing countries to address climate change.

The event was supported by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), organized by the Center for Global Climate and Marine Governance of Korea University (CGCMG), and hosted by CSDLAP, together with the CGCMG, the GGGI, the UNDP Seoul Policy Centre, and the Green Asia Organization.
